Fishing with IrishAyes 7-11-10
« on: July 11, 2010, 07:12:20 PM »
Had another opportunity to fish with Capt. Joe (IrishAyes) today and to try and find some keeper fluke. It was Myself, 2 buddys Vic and Marcus, my cousin Dominic, and Joe along with his buddy Andy who is a great guy as well. Started around 8 am, headed out made a few drifts around Asbury Park, picked up some shorts and short sea bass. thats when Marcus's stomach turned upside down (couldnt be the 2 dozen greasy buffalo wings from hooters the night before can it be)...He had his Head down from about 9 am until we hit the dock. Chumming away about 4 times, hurling so loud, the guys on the other boats were hearin it...Terrible, felt bad for the kid. (who is also my sisters boyfreind)

So we headed down to the Rocks and what not, fished there for a few hours, picked up a few keeper seabass and a bunch more short fluke, skate, and Joes buddy Andy picked up a juicy 19 inch fluke. First and only keeper of the day. 5 inch ling was caught also.. never saw one in person looks like a SLUG  cfzd. Made some more drifts, keeper seabass, bunch of short seabass and fluke again.

All in all, Great day to be on the water for everyone besides Marcus. Got sunburnt, got some meat for the table, and had a great time like always with Joe. Once we hit the dock, marcus felt better, got in the truck, he was fine. Went to Kliens for some Fried seafood combo platter and some Bud's.

Final Tally
1 Fluke
5 Seabass (biggest about 2.5 pounds)

Thanks for another great trip Joe, hope to get out again soon.  t^ t^

Fishon,Always a pleasure to be out fishing. Capt Joe always works hard.
Nice to hear your Buddy recovered upon hitting LAND. A few  meals, and nice sun burn out on the water is a good day. t^

Pops Soul, yes it was great to meet you as well. As soon as I saw the boat name I was like "I know him" from the site!... Capt Mike - without a doubt he will come.. Last time I was with you and Bob was like three years ago, I believe for Fluke...

Oh I forgot to mention I set my hook so hard on mother earth fishing the rocks, my ugly stick snapped in half. Kind of PISSED about that. And another thing, some guys came about 30 feet from us while we were fishing, doing 360's trying to get there 2$ rig out from being snagged. People are pathetic. That went on for 5+ minutes it was like they didn't care we were fishing... SNAP THE DAM 2$ RIG
