Raitan Bay Fluking 7/12
« on: July 12, 2010, 04:39:36 PM »
John and myself out of Sayreville at 6 this morning, headed straight to the # 1 buoy Keyport and met up with Salty Dog and Ben to get some Killies from them as pre arranged.fished there for awhile and headed up into the Reach and then to the TC buoy where we picked some shorts eventually ended up in the Sandy Hook channel where John boxed the only keeper of the day just over the 18 inch mark.,we were getting fish every drift just couldn't seem to get the right size, many at 17 inches and some just missing and I did get one of the big elusive skates to keep my hot streak with them going and of course we caught birds.after the tide change the drift moving kind of fast, moved back to the Reach where we ran into Salty Dog and Ben again, they had boxed 3 keepers we fished here catching, but nothing for the box.headed back bay and tried with no success before heading in at 2.great day on the water and the action ok but no meat, but I guess 1 is better than none.     Kez
