Headed out for another day on the fluking grounds... Howie, Eric In Pursuit, Darren, Bruce and Brandon rounded out the 5 man crew.
Pain in the neck se ground swell was still present... Got up to the grounds and didnt have many bites at all... seemed like the bite was still off like on the weekend.
Finally had a drift with 3 keepers and some short life but when ya went back to repeat you wouldnt get any more bites... Story of the day... Hoped around in rough stuff but only could manage a fish here and there... Never had a good repeat drift... some spots had a fait amount of shorts but no keepers mixed in.
Had some excitement when Darren rod doubled over and up to the net came his personal best fluke at 8 lbs 12 oz... Congrats Darren!!!!!
Drift got fast so we headed inshore and actually found some decent life... Much more than i expected with the heave.... only problem is it came with a price as the fish were tight to the rocks and with the super fast drift it was tough on the tackle. heavy on the shorts But were boxing up some nice keepers in between them.
Howie was the puller and managed top off his limit + catch here... he was high hook with 8 keepers... A nice accomplishment on a tough day.
Put in a long day... bite was very tough and conditions stunk... but the guys worked hard all day and managed to put 18 Keeper Fluke and 8 nice seabass in the box!!!
Great time with a great crew!!! Lotsa laughs!!!
Thanks again guys!!!
