Somebody turn off the fan
Today I had boat regulars Nikki and Pat out seabassing. With forcasted high south winds we knew a long day was not in the cards. Being today was also the opening day for blackfish we spent a little time first thing in the morning getting a few different kinds of crabs so we would have plenty of ammo. We fished a different area than where we have been fishing and were very pleased to see a new body of big knuckleheads have moved in. Great short to keeper ratio and mostly 14" and 15" keepers. Real nice stuff. The two anglers went right to work chipping away at their limits. By 9:15 the wind started picking up and I knew it was just a matter of time to we had to pull the plug. I had 2 spare rods rigged and ready for the anglers so they had no down time re rigging. At 11am with the seas building and it was time to go Nikki hoisted a sweet double header to put number 49 and 50 on ice. I cant wait to get back on this area with some decent conditions. Looks like the blackies will have to wait a few days for a nice ride in the cooler
A stop in the bay produced a 2.4 knot drift and nonstop action on shorts. I think a piece of shoe lace could catch 20 fish right now. The numbers are insane. Catch em up
