Finally its time to put some toggies in the box. With a cancelled charter due to the windy forcast I grabbed my pop to sneak out for some summer blackfishing. Sea condition were ok with a tight chop and wind against tide. With the high water temps I was not expecting many of the larger models bitting. Usually its great action on 12 to 14" fish with some nice 15 and 16" stuff mixed in. Boy was I wrong today. It was a 17" avg with 6 lb males hitting the ice. Totally under gunned today with a few brake offs and straitened hooks. Railed by more than a few big dogs. Sure would of been nice boxing a 12 to 14lber to start the season off right. Will be back with the heavy sticks soon. Also grabbed a 5 gallon bucket of seabass and played with some short fluke in the bay for a nice relaxing trip with my pop
