Rubber Coated Bucktails
« on: March 13, 2011, 08:36:46 PM »
Here's a novel idea.  These bucktails have like little rubber condoms on the heads, I presume to protect it from chipping and stuff. :headscra:

I acquired them recently in a tackle trade.  I've never seen them before and I'm curious to know if any of you have.

Looking for a name/manufacturer etc.

Thanks,
Bob

OK Bob, I guess it's time we had this talk....
Condoms are used so the girl doesn't get pregnant and so neither party gets sores.   ;D

On a more serious note....I saw some bucktails yesterday that had a lead core and then a plastic body over them.  The idea being to get a larger profile with a lighter weight jig.
So I guess the condom could be for durability and /or larger profile.

With the cost of tackle these days, I try to keep the rubbers off in the hopes of finding baby bucktails the next time I open the box.   5hrug
