Ocean City MD report 7/21
« on: July 22, 2010, 09:16:03 AM »
Have been down here for about a week and a half so far and no fish to show for it. We are finding it hard to find fish except for a few small croaker. Hard to even find the short fish. Yesterday we were out drifting and there was another guy crabbing when a police officer was going by and he turned around after he passed us and went over to the crabber to check his catch. I told my wife he was going to stop by us next, but he just left when he was done with the crabber. My wife said he saw we were fishing and he knows there are no fish around here.  rofla

On the other hand there are as many clams and crabs you want. We are getting some big crabs up to 8". most are 6- 7" but we did get two at 8.  cfzd

Still better then working  t^

Being out on the water for a week and a half is winning in my book.  Have fun down there Rick!

Yea it's been over 100 for a few days and I am glad I don't have to work in this except when the golf cart died on me at 11:00 at night and had to push it back to the RV.

I hate to say it but I am ready for fall fishing.

I fished the surf one day for the whole incoming tide and only saw one small croker caught.

I'll be heading down with boat this week!  What areas are you trying?  Have you ventured north of the 50 bridge?

I fished south of the bridge. Found the croaker at the 17. Also fished outside and south.

Good luck!

Got out sunday. Went to Assateague State Park around 10 and stayed till 3pm.  When we first got there it was very hot and the flies wouldn't leave us alone haha.  About 2 hours into the day it cooled off and flies were gone and I finally caught something in the surf! Ended up catching 2 clear nosed skates, 3 sand sharks, 4 king fish, and the smallest fluke I've seen yet, Probably 7 inches.  It was a great time.  When my buddy sends me the photos Ill post some up here.

We will be down there on Aug 2nd for a couple of days.  We will be staying on Chinncoteaque Island and doing the sightseeing thing.  My daughter wants to see the wild horses so it will be a camera clicking time and not a fishing time this year.  :P

Good to know about the flies though.  I guess we will be bringing along the OFF.  fcp

Happy Catching

I have been going down for 16 years and only had flies on the beach once.

When I was down there about 2 weeks ago the flies were all over the place for the first few hours. I ended up wading in the water most of the time to stay away from them.
