Winter flounder illegally sold by comms
« on: August 19, 2010, 02:40:12 PM »
Saw a small article in this week's Fisherman where it states nearly 80,000 pounds of winter flounder were landed in Southern New England during the first three months after the regs changed. That's more than 79,000 pounds that were illegally sold.

Patricia Kurkul of NMFS said "there's nothing catastrophic going on there" "shows that the fishermen know where to fish, when to fish and how to fish, and what gear to use so they can target healthy stocks and avoid the unhealthy ones."

I read it as a big So What from this person smk

What she meant by what she said was...it shows how insane the regulations are for both comms and recs.
