Fishing with ToTheLimit today was...
« on: September 22, 2010, 10:28:21 PM »
Great, even though I got the skunk but Allen caught a small fluke and it was released to grow a bit larger.

We drove down the beach to show him what it was like and I think we have another surf rat on our hands...The day was perfect the wind was out of the south west about 15 at times and the tide was out going.  It was good to have the tide going out fast as I was able to show Allen the way the beach works and how to read the beach.  He did a real nice job at it after a little coaching.

We waded out almost to the outer bar and were casting into some sweet looking holes but either no one was home or the fish were so full of fish they were off the bite.

The birds were in full dive mode with spearing, sand eels and mullet all over the place.  For the most part we were using AVA's in the A17 TO A 27's with a sand eel teaser.  I had a real good hit that just sliced through the braid; had to be a big ol blue.  After that Allen hooked a small fluke that was promptly released.

The cuts were very prominent with holes all over the place.  Back out tomorrow with my uncle and a friend of his, George.  It is that time of year where everything starts to make their move.  If you are waiting for a better time your missing out on some good fishing.

The pelicans are still around so that tells you that the water temps are still warm and there was a large school of dolphins about a 1/4 mile off the beach.  I think that was one reason for the slow fishing today. We did see small blues being caught as well.

Allen it was a pleasure to have you out with me today and I am glad you caught.  I am looking forward till the next time, maybe we can get your son out with us as well.

Happy Catching

Paul
