Pilot - Another mixed bag 10/9
« on: October 09, 2010, 08:31:09 PM »
Had the Brunswick connection out for a shot at the stripes.  Pushed off 6:45 with Skunk, Kooz and T-bone with a gallon of stinky schucked clams, 4 dz fresh and greenies.  Planned on the jig for first shot around the tip.  Marks, no takers.  Continued south near the beds. Fleet already set up.  Stayed out of the parking lot, anchored on the perimeter.  Bats were crackin, meat slingin.  T-bone strikes early and often.  Picky fish.  Not really hammering the clam.  Touch, wrap, tap, tap... type of fishing.  Kooz scores next.   Fish are returned coming up shy by 3-4 inches.  Only one makes the coffin. 28" and a hair over.  Skunk and I battled a few doggies.  We managed 5 bass to the boat before the tide slacked and things started to peter out.   Pulled the hook and headed south to the reef for some bottom fish.   On the way, stopped at the same spot as two weeks ago on heavy marks.  Skunk gets a spike in our attempts to jig something up.  t^ It's returned and we heading to POGEY VILLE.   The action was steady the balance of the morning and through into the afternoon.  For the day.....

14 keeper porgie
5 short blackfish 12-13.5 in
3 nice sea bass
5 stripes (1 for the box)
2 fluke - returned
1 weekie - returned
1 blow fish

Very nice day on water.  Ride back in through the tip and SH bay a wishing machine.  Outstanding time with Brunswick boys TT^
