We fished friday night several miles east of the hudson in some tough conditions.
Prior to setting up for the night we trolled up a few dolphin and had some nice tuna marks in with the draggers.
We didn't want to get cut off so we headed up the line to spend night.
We went 1 for 2 on yellowfin before 10pm and then released a small sword. We had great tuna marks and tons of bait but a tuna bite didn't materialize.
Around 1am the bluesharks moved in and we spent the rest of the night trying to weed through them for a tuna bite. we ended up releasing 18 blue sharks and broke off at least that many. Needless to say our tuna gear needed some help after that.

We spent last night in the Toms and tried to do a little daytime swordfishing. Never really marked any deep bait so we ended up tilefishing.
We put 12 tiles in the boat and then got on the troll. Trolled up a few dolphin before setting up for the night.
Our first fish of the night was a 90 pound yellowfin that hit a live squid around 9pm and we had a quick little flurry of bites. ended up 4 for 7 on fish between 65 and 90 pounds before the bite died.
around 11pm we had sardines behind the boat and a small swordfish followed them up. It hit a live squid down 60 feet and jumped before we even knew we had a bite. we released it and waited...
Around 2am it happened. Literally all the fish you could handle until 5am. The fish weren't picky but we stuck with bait mostly because i feel it's much easier to release the fish. we boated 7 more and released another 20. the fish were big and they were taking a toll on our anglers so for a while we just watched the fish streak through the balled up sardines and squid.
We ended up with 12 tiles, 3 dolphin, 31 yellowfin and a small sword.
