Would a new 350 with 300hp. be too much for a Alpha 1 drive? The one that's in it right now has 190-200 hp. Motor finally went and right at the height of striper season!!! Looking at a new turn key 350.

your lower unit would now be the weak link

I'd stick a 265hp 305 or 350 in it.

or upgrade the lower unit.. if your going to do it, do it right.. power it the way you want so you have no regrets.
