10/25...Joe Rosales Sandy Hook Striped Bassin
« on: October 25, 2010, 07:08:44 PM »
Left out of Highlands at 6:15 to be set up and drifting before first light...aboard was Joe, his wife Terry and Joe's dad "Buzz"...Started drifting the Slimeys...1st drift...2 misses, 2nd drift and Buzz is locked into a nice size fish...36 incher in the cooler...lines up, next drift, Terry is doing battle on another good fish at 38 inches....thinkin man this is the day!!!!!....by 8 a.m. the fleet arrived or drove past and we worked the area untol 10 a.m. without a single hit....ran to the bay to anchor...cracked 2 bushels with only a skate to show for it....guy trolling by says he taking short weakies on umbrella rigs.  Threw on a Tube and a Stretch and trolled the reach back to terminal channel without a touch. While terry had the longest of the day, Buzz's fish weighed in at 24 lbs where Terry's was a skinny long male at 22 lbs...tried like hell to get Joe his fish but it wasnt meant to be today.....next time!!!!!

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.
