Fish Monger Sat 11/6 Slow Bottom Fishing / Load Of Blues
« on: November 07, 2010, 09:38:41 AM »
Had Mark Odnik Charter aboard for a day of combo of bottom/ jigging.

Didnt see no great life on the way out so we headed back to the deeper water where we had some seabass and good porgy life yesterday.

Got set up and it was hard to lose a bait where we had good life yesterday... Few seabass and ling...Porgies vanished or didnt want to chew. Made a few drops in the area but never got it going. Had a real hard south current...

Moved all around deep n shallow from 40 ft to 130ft and little life n we never got a anybite going.

Switched to jigging.... headed up the beach stopping on a few birds and reads... few friends trolled and jigged a few bass by the hook... made our way up there... loads of boats n no bass for us.

Got out of there.... and looked on the 2 1/2 Mile line ln the way home... the same place we had no life was now alive with life... couple mile of birds working.

Stayed out late and the guys had a blast jigging the heck out the blues. unfortunately no bass, but the bues were everywhere good action and a real day saver .They loaded w sand eels which is a good sign!!!

So by days end the guys caught a handful of seabass, porgy, ling and a blackfish... jigged up 75 blues from mixed size from 3-12lbs for the box and lost countless others.

Made the best of a tough day!!!

Mark and crew were a blast as always!!!

Thanks again Guys!!! sorry pics a little blurry

Almost time... cant wait for the blackfishing to start!!!

Great effort on the bass, both sea and striped. Blue fish, alway a trip saver.  t^
