Almost Skunked on Friday 11/5
« on: November 06, 2010, 01:03:30 PM »
So my 12 yr old son wakes up and says he wants to fish today.  I look at the forecast, not great but what the heck. Arrive at boat 10:30, wind is honking out of the west - white caps in the bay.  Get some peanuts and we're off.  Get around the hook and it's every bit 4-6' seas.  Drop the peanuts down and can't even hold with 10 ozs.  Outgoing was just rippin.  Put out the trolling rods. Was not marking a lot of bait, let alone fish.  Trolled for an hour+ without a hit.  By this time my buddies, who fished the incoming, were on their way back with plenty of fish.  Ran into the bay and hooked a 29" bass that my son reeled in - he was thrilled and i was happy we didn't get skunked...  Sometimes you just miss the bite! 5hrug
