Fishermen/Stripers Saturday....
« on: November 13, 2010, 05:15:11 PM »
Still a huge swell in the ocean most of the day, for the 4th day in a row... Surprised we caught anything at all with some crappy conditions!!
If this keeps up, by Monday I may need traction!

Had to work readings, snags and good peaces of bottom all day. Some drifts had 5 or 6 fish with a keeper or two in the mix, some drifts with none.
Best of the fishing came at slack into the change of tide once again late in the day. Couple drifts with hot action actually got the customers back in the game!

Several limits including Dr. Sal, Art Berkman, Jeff and a host of others on fish just at the 28 inch mark...Pool fish must have been lost and swimming with the wrong school as it went 16 pounds. We called it "The Babysitter"!

Still don't know how a guy can spend a ton of money on a boat, yet won't use his fish finder to produce fish! The lack of respect in Society carries on with some of the weekend warriors and the things I witness each week....I could go on forever with stories, but the true boatmen and fishermen know the deal. Some of these clowns end up being the ones we read about!!

My 4 man charter was canceled yesterday due to rough seas.Capt Frank Masseria thanks for making the call !

Back up plan was to head out with Lee for a few hrs yesterday but Lee called me Fri night & we both at the same time said lets go out when conditions are better. So we canceled.

I woke up at 3:20 am yesterday and starting talking to myself.

I said it's going to be a nice day heck even If I don't catch I will still be on the water.

Left my house at 4 am.

1st stop DD for coffee.

I arrived at the Atlantic Highlands at 5:15 am.

Put my rods in the stern of the Fishermen.

The sun started rising & I knew it was going to be a nice day.

At 7:30 am we left the dock & Capt Ron searched around. There was a very big swell.Even with the Big swell it was fishable from a party boat.

I caught a short Bass right away and after that I landed my first Keeper that had a Tag in it.I cut the tag off & tomorrow I am going to call & see if I am the Million dollar winner  ;) I jigged my arse off & landed another 5 shorts & 1 more keeper and I can say I got the fix I needed   TT^

Capt Ron thanks for a nice day !

It always a pleasure sailing with a captain like you   chrz

From the helm to the deck you know how to take care of your customers  !

Chris & Rob you guys are aces in my book !

See you guys soon !

Thanks for the report Ron. Alot of Knuckle Heads out there. Hate to say it, but I've even had Party Boats (Not Yours), out of Shark River and Manasquan Inlets, push in on me while I have been fishing. <'((((><
I've spent most of my life fishing, the rest I've just wasted     <'((((><

Forgot to mention someone caught a Sturgeon on an AVA 47.

The mates netted the fish & released her unharmed !

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.
