Irish Ayes Blues Report
« on: November 20, 2010, 06:46:28 PM »
With the Islander Blackfih trip canceled, Capt. Joe put a 5 man crew togeather TT^ Myself, Capt Joe, Jonny Oz, Pete, and Dennis broke SR inlet in time to see the sunrise we were greeted with  4 to 5 foot swells. WE headed Southeast to our first set of marks Jonny Oz was the first to hook up with a Blue. The Bite started out slow but hook ups went around the boat, Johnny Oz again this time with a legal bass and we lost the school. We moved further south where there was a fleet of boats with the seas starting to lay down a bit it was fish on  t^ 4 out 5 hooked up at once with all the blues you wanted. We filled the coffin cooler and it was catch and release the rest of the day. The wind changed to a stiff 30 kt west wind and had trouble buying a bite the rest of the day. With several calls coming from other Captains having trouble with a sucessful day. We had a Great day catching all those blues and 2 1 Striper one member of the crew did not stay focused on the job and lost a Striper with a Net or Netter Malfuction :headscra: fcp As always a great time and ballbusting on the Irish Ayes To add to our Blues Capt Joe got the news the boat comes out of the water on Monday :P

The right decision was made for the Islander trip. It would have been bumpy on the anchor and trying to hold the bait to the bottom would have been a lot of work.

Today we started out good. Had a keeper bass in the boat early. A second bass came to the boat and operator error (mine  ;D) made it a catch and release fish.  fcp

We had blues all morning, scattered here and there. All on jigs.

Great crew, not a bad way to end the season. Boat comes out Monday  :'( and I will spend two weeks in withdrawal.  cfzd

Thanks everyone who fished with me this year. We had many memorable trips.

To next year.  chrz
