17 fathoms
« on: November 26, 2010, 04:59:05 PM »
A few questions for the pro's. First is it worth the trip out to 17 fathoms for tog instead of the SH reef this week? If so what else will I catch there? Was thinking hi low rig with clam on the top hook And last is, do I need a wreck anchor or will my danforth work with out getting hung up? Thanks in advance.

theres some nasty stuff out there...i would say a wreck anchor to be safe....will produce right now but generally is a mid-late december and early to mid january spot when the tog start moving a little deeper off. Definately some ling there and probably some school coddie out there. is a nice April spot too!

Would keep fishing the SHR, Rattlesnake, Scotland and the Rough bottom off Elbern until the Tog move.

Def use a wreck anchor with the reverse hookup to get off the snags easy
