sat. toggin

Went to the SH reef in glassy seas. Had a slow start so moved a bit and found the fish. A few smaller fish then a nice 21 ", then a 23" for me. Started throwing keepers back thinking we were going to get more big fish but that was it. A bunch of shorts and 15"ers.
Moved out to the deeper water where they fleet was. Not sure what the area was. One chart said 17 fathoms but I have different numbers for that. I did see that there is rubble dumped there. And a bunch of wrecks right above it. Can someone tell me what this area is called please? And are they fishing for just tog there. We did get one tog there. There seemed to be a line of rubble on the bottom holding a lot of bait. It is north east of the reef a few miles. A big square on my gps that says precautionary zone.
Beautiful day on the water. Nice when you can run home full throttle. Would have been nicer if there were some bass around also.

And we also caught this wierd blue bergaw. pic doesn't show how blue it was.

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.

sounds like the FG....Fisherman's Grounds if it was a little north and east of the reef...how deep was it?...fg is around 50-60 ft
if u were east of the north end of the reef, u could have been on the mud bouy(just south of fg)  and 17 would be just east of that.

that area has several names - battlegrounds is probably the most popular
