I have a Penn 650ss that I have used when offshore fishing.  Would this be ok with a 10'6 Tica? casting ability?  Also it hasn't been used in about a year and a half, what type of maintenance should I do to it?  What should i grease or spray with WD 40?

that's the same reel (actually I swap between a 650ss and 6500ss) I use on my 9 foot 2-6 ounce tica. One has 40lb braid and the other has 20lb mono. Both are great reels for that rod

I was wondering what size swivels I should use to tie the leader to my line as well as what size clip swivel to conect my line to the hook or lure?  Also what type of weight should be used for using bait? ounces and shape?  Thanks

I usually use an 80# black swivel.  Not because it will land an 80# fish bit it is the easiest to work with for me.  As far as weight, use whatever will allow you to hold bottom and not walk all over the surf.  I would suggest the pyramid type as it will dig in and give you extra holding power.

Thanks Ped.  I bought 50# the other day snd they looked small.  What do the pounds actually mean?  Also should I use the same poundage for the clip swivel as well as the barrel swivel?

The poundage is the weight that the swivel is rated for before it fails.  I like to use fast clips and not the other types.  Why?  I find it so much easier to change out lures.  If you are just using it for the sinkers it will be fine.
