Headboat report
« on: March 21, 2011, 03:34:28 PM »
Took advantage of the nicer weather on Friday, and headed to Point Pleasant. Jumped on the Dauntless with about 40 other people in search of cod.  Let me say that the Capt. and mates were very courteous, and it was a nice boat to fish from.  That being said it was a bad day of fishing.  Out of about 40 people there were about 6 cod caught.  I ended up with a couple ling, 2 dogfish, and some bergalls.  The capt. tried several spots, but couldn't get a good bite going at all.  Still was nice to get out after a long winter.  Also wasn't at work so had to be a good day. Right?

Great effort. You did pick a good boat. Sometimes it's just not meant to be.

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.

Stuff happens, my last two trips have been 1 keeper and 5 shorts total, trip before that I had 33 keepers.  Every day is a gamble, if you go enough, you'll have some good ones and maybe one great one.
