Help with areas to strip bass fish

I was wondering if anyone has had much success fishing the Manasquan inlet for striper's, from the shoreline that is, like along the sea wall. And if so what has been the most successful bait early in the season.

I've done very well there for fluke in the summer. I think the north jetty in manasquan is better for the stripers

Are you refering to the north side of the inlet when you say north jetty?

The jetties are the sections of rock that protrude off the beach, surrounding the mouth of the inlet.  Be safe when walking across these, as they get very slippery from the spray.

yes, the north side of the inlet. the seawall is awesome for fishing, and you'll see lots of people fishing there all season. but if your looking for stripers, your better off back by the train bridge this time of year. or, as I mentioned, the north jetty if you have access.

I'm not that surefooted So the jetties are not an option for me. I know what train bridge you are referring to but is there access from the shore line?

If you are not comfortable going onto the rocks, Don't Do It! You can fish from Dog Sh!t Beach on the Manasquan side, as well as the pocket of the jetty on the beach out front. I've pulled some nich fish there. I've pulled some Fluke over the fence on the Manasquan side as well.

Over on the Pt. Pleasant side, I usally stick to the area by the Fishermans Memorial out to the beginning of the jetty. You can catch fish at any Inlet.

You might want to try fishing the Pt. Pleasant Canal as well. Lots of options there as well. <'((((><

directly across the street from the 7-11 there is access to the train bridge, and safe places to fish

Fishin Dude & gagedylan: Thank you both for that information, I am familiar with both locations, however I have never tried to fish them. Sounds like they will work for me. My wife and I are also looking to buy a small boat for the bay's and inlets, something I can trailer and handle with her and myself.

I have fished there many times and i have to say i would reccomend fishing the (ocean) beach in manasquan for stripers over the inlet.  The inlet can be good to very good for fluke, but as far as srtipers go, the beach is more where its at.  If you dont feel comfortable fishng the ocean for whatever reason, the inlet can give up some fish.  Nighttime is obviously better, and early morining or late evening during or around a noreaster is probably best.  Try clams and maybe softbaits like storm shads for the early spring, then maybe some bunker as the spring run wears on.
