Hunter 2, Raritan Bay Stripers 5-01-2011
« on: May 01, 2011, 08:58:37 PM »
Pulled out of Keyport with Cashin and Steve "massbaster" at the top of the tide this morning. We trolled the Reach channel and produced a keeper Striper and a short. When the tide was moving we clammed a shallow spot with no results. Made a move near a lighthouse and picked up 3 fish right away, 2 were keepers. Made a few more moves and picked up one more keeper back at the shallow spot.
We had 3 keepers total in tough wind against tide conditions. The action seemed slow today compared to the banner days we have been having with 30 to 50 fish but thats the way it goes.
We all had a great time and thats what counts! TT^
   Good Luck,  Eddie ;D

Nice. It was slow out there.  We had similar results with 3 keeps and a couple toss backs.

Same here with similar results.  Lots of boat traffic while on anchor can't be good. A lot of aholes going full speed right through a fleet of boats. nts  T-Bone

Hey Eddie, good try.  I think I was trying the same lighthouse Saturday eve a little while after I passed you heading out, but someone was anchored up right where I wanted to be.  Watched them pull 2 keepers while I hit the skunk there.  Caught 5 shorts up at Romer Shoal earlier, it was only a matter of time until my first mate suddenly started feeling green and asked me to take her in.   rgmn
