Thanks to Rick for posting up earlier for me!
Headed out at 0615 from Highlands with Frank Alfano and crew... fishing by 0650 on the last of the incoming....flat calm...that flat calm right before the storm...the one we were watching on the western horizon...
Lines In and immediate action that continued for a solid hour or so....then came the wind and rain which had me searching for better grounds after we kept coming up on the anchor line....made a short run...a little better...couple missed fish...with an hour left of tide we threw out the Stretches and trolled awhile without a touch....Outgoing started so we had the current and wind and set up on a high spot and some marks...for the next 3 hours had the place to ourselves and constant singles and doubles on. Blew my water pump belt on port engine and didnt feel like messing with it in the buckets full of rain falling on us so i ran home on one engine...all in all a great day!
