Today was the day we have been waiting for. As a new boater and novice saltwater fisherman, all the things came together today for two of my boys and me.
Started out around 7am anchored in BI, just abover where the two channels come together.
We clammed and chunked some bunker lookign for soem fun with the Blues. We started catching them 10 minutes afetr we anchored up and we caught steady for the next 5 hours. The three of us brought in 25 of them, kept about a dozen of the smaller ones to have some nice fillets for the smoker.
We couldn't cut bunker fast enough, and we had a few thawed mackarel and that really drove them wild.
We hoped a bass would mix in but never happened, we saw plenty come in the inlet with them but we were content fighting the Blues.
I enjoy reading all your posts, I hope this might be of use for someone else!
