Launched at 6:15 from Highlands making good time with Lt Willy (Fishbones) and the Striper Queen to a section outside the tip in 18ft. One other boat in the vicinity. Lt Willy had first fish on within 10 minutes on bunker chunk courtesy of Capt D jr. Schultz puts the pin to a nice fat 32" and the day is off to a good start. Pinged T-bone and he wasted no time getting in the zone. 15 minutes after he sets the anchor and his sticks are bending. Skates had some fun with us for a while and then another nice 34" is put on ice with Tikki taking the honors. Sister is starting get real antsy. Whaa, how come I can't catch a fish
doing her best impression of T-bone. A couple of sniffs here and there. Slow pick action. Tempted on several occassion to pull the rip cord but stuck it out. Towards the end of outgoing, wind started to kick a little and current began to rip. Bites picked up! Added 2 more stripers to the cooler and about 7 bluefish to fill a special order for the PA boys. Watched T-bone spike 'em regularly. Left at 11:45. He'll have a decent report I know for a fact. Overall, a good half day on the water and enough action to keep us in the game. Sis got the whistle fish but it was the species she was looking for. Had to send her home with fillet of Schultz but I'm sure she will not mind.
