Long day today. Headed out on the LnL out of Keyport in some thick fog with Capt D at the wheel. Searched for bunker. Found them scattered throughout the bay slapping the top but without any serious concentration. Was impossible for us to get a snag on them. Headed the GK area and loaded a few spackle buckets after a short search effort. Set-up not far from the harbor and started chuncking. The Hillbilly caught multiiple clusters of spider crabs that would have made a 60's orgy look tame
. 4-6 tangled in a love Karma Sutra at a time! No bent rods for anyone in the vicinity. Stuck it out with threatening skies, slight drizzle and wishful thinking. Donnie pulls the hook and makes a run to the west end of the bay. Nothing being had through the balance of incoming, slack and finally a couple of snifs on the outgoing. We had a guick flurry put two in the box, had 3 good runoffs, 1 unbottoned halfway home and 5 bluefish. Hung out till after 2:00 and made it back, cleaned up before the skies opened up again.
Tough day but we did have some action.
No pics..... next time
