5/15
On Sunday we hosted the Bill Anderson charter along with the President, Teddy Roosevelt (Glenn), and friends. We left the dock at 11am and coming up to a moon tide found the slack water we arrived on to be very short before it switched. With the water incoming, we didn’t find the bites we’d hope’d for, only putting a couple Bass in the boat in the first hour of the tide. We made a move, and found super strong currents on our chosen ground. Knowing we still had a good part of the tide, we up’ed the lead, and waited it out. Just after the strong tide peaked, the fish turned on. We had numerous shots with 2 and sometimes 3 fish on at a time. By the time we reached the end of the trip, we had 2 Bass for everyone to take to the table, and released some. Another great time, bass fishing with great guys!

On Wednesday we fought the early wind, to take the guys to hungry fish. We setup and had 2 fish on before a clam was even cracked. The Striped Bass kept action going steady through the tide. We landed our limit and released until slack. Everyone decided, despite cooler water then we would like for the fluking to get really good, to put some into it, and see what we could come up with. Trying different areas until early afternoon, we were bit only by smaller fluke. Should be getting better on that side soon, but the Bass fishing is holding strong! Great job guys, The Benchmark is glad to have you aboard again!

We were met with foggy conditions as John and friends boarded the Benchmark in the highlands to catch a limit of bass by 8am! We continued to catch keeper class fish and release ‘em until around 10am when we decided to give fluking a try again. Well this time we found a little more action, but still not good. We gave it an honest effort, only to come up with shorts. Great seeing you guys again, always a pleasure!

5/20am
Today’s fishing was excellent! Conditions were good, and the Striped Bass were hungry! We got’em going early and kept them coming! The guys were offering me money not to crack another clam, by about noon. We had numerous times with triple fish and even more doubles. Bill had the high hook with 18 himself, almost all keeper class! We caught a total of 96 bass and were back to the dock just after noontime. We also had a 19.5″ fluke we caught on the bass rig! What a morning, we really do have access to some of the best Striper fishing the world offers!!!

5/20pm
Right back out Friday showed us completely different conditions from the morning. Fishing windows of both tides, the fishing was slower then we expected after a gang buster morning, but taking advantage of what the fish gave us, and doing everything we could for the bites, we caught our limit.  Thanks for hanging in, rod in hand guys, and putting the catch together! Looking forward to next time!

Fred and the great group of guys he brought battled a big fleet of boats with us, to catch another limit of Striped Bass. We setup in the fog, and as soon as it cleared, it was apparent the amount of boats that gave the day a shot, after it lifted, the boats kept coming.. With that much boat traffic, the bite gets tough.. We hung in, kept the school interested in us and put half our limit in the boat before slack water. We saw the crowd getting bigger, and decided to setup away from the mess for the next tide. Finding the fish that we wanted, the guys put a good pile of meat together. We also got a bonus seabass that Nick caught, check out the size! Quickly taking a picture and releasing it. Thanks for coming back to us guys and we can’t wait to see you again!

Mike finally got away from the office and was able to enjoy the Benchmark with a group of friends! Again the fleet of boats was big, and we found the fishing to be a little tougher today. By the end of the trip we were only two shy of a limit catch, so all in all we did have a good day. Jeff was high hook with it being the first time he was ever bass fishing! Beginners luck or skill? Great job guys, and a fun day on the water!

Sorry for the delay again. Had internet problems at the boat, and since I've been staying there, it's been hard to get online. Everything fixed today as we've found a day off! Back at it again tomorrow.. Daily reports to start!
