Lead Sinkers-On their way out???????
« on: August 14, 2007, 08:02:30 AM »
I am reading more about states outlawing the use of lead in our favorite sport. It seems the toxicity to the enviroment is a concern.
People are starting to use Ceramic sinkers and other metals.I can only imagine how many pounds of lead I have donated to the structure I fish.I am concerned also.
Do any of you have any alternative ideas to lead sinkers?
Ross

Hi Ross,

This has been much discussed the past decade. The big alternative is ceramic. There is no momentum right now (but things can change quickly) to get this changed in NJ waters.

I tried them for a year or two on charters to make people aware of what was being discussed.

Have fun,

Ed

Hi Jarhead,

Send Ross a PM (rossg) as he may have something you may be interested in. He can explain better offline.

Thanks,

Capt. Ed
