Had Andrew Donaldson's Charter aboard today along with a great crew.
Plan was to mix it up with stripers and then do some bottomfishing for seabass.
Made bait along the way stoping on various bunker schools... we didn't see any hungry bass in them... so we took our bait to where we limited yesterday.
Got on scene and had 2 bites and 2 bass in the boat our first drift. Next drift 1, then 2.... just keep working the same area... put 6 in the boat and the bite seemed to die.
Decided to go look for some seabass... went to a bunch of spots but finally found an area with good life.... bites as soon as u hit the bottom but it was heavy on shorts. Good news is just about all the keepers were nice knuckle heads with a bunch between 2-3lbs!
Also has a fair showing of cod for inshore catching about a dozen mostly shorts but we managed 4 keepers. Through back a nice winter flounder a few nice blackfish and managed a nice keeper fluke.
Read great life and the bigger fish were def on the pieces but they felt like ice cubes and the dinks were more aggressive. But put nice catch together nontheless.
Was limited to inside 3miles because we had bass in the boat. Got a few pieces a little further off im eager to try tomorrow.
By days end the guys wound up 6 keeper stripers, 63 seabass to 3lbs, 4 keeper cod, 2 ling and a fluke!
NICE MIXED BAG!
Crew was great as usual!!!
