Fluke Limits + 6/5
« on: June 07, 2011, 04:51:13 PM »
Out early with Cooch. Slow ride out; was a lil choppy. Went down to the spot away from it all where we got the keeps last time and proceeded to catch fish after fish 17"-18". Fast drift; moved up near the tip and had some more 17.75"ers. Met up with Tombo and Jim out there and they were also bailing them but again only shorts. By this time the fleet was hiding behind the Bug Light and CG station where it was much calmer. Usually I don't go for the bumper boat thing but Tom convinced me to try a few drifts. Had a nice fish right at 18" which we also released and a bunch more 17.5"ers. Back to the dock around 1130 with lots of action but another empty fishbox. Final tally 13 fish 17-17.5", 9 fish 17.5-17.99", 1 fish 18.00". Slot limit would have been nice; at least we would have had dinner. How is it that all those 17.75"ers from last year are still the same size?  :headscra:

Tuff one Warren. It's a shame to have to release all those nice, edible fish.  :P
