Had Bob, Jim, Tony, Don, Wilson and Ralphy aboard for bass this afternoon.
After the terrible fishing the last few days finally had a break go our way.
Got keyed in on a long distance bite Capts Fred and Max THANKS FELLAS!
Told the guys we were gonna run for it with the bait we had since there hasn't been none around...
Never made it there...Working my way to the grounds we came across birds diving... we stopped and had a bass right away.
A little distance away we had more birds and bass blowing up on top.
Stopped on the mother load and had the whole boat hooked up 3,4,5 on at a time on both bunker and jigs. Made quick work of a limit. Stayed with this batch of fish and played c&r for the rest of the day. Fish were all loaded with butterfish which was interesting.
Not a boat in sight which was nice compared to the huge fleets ob the bunker
Don had his two personal best at 43 and 41lbs!!!
Got out of town before the big storm... beat it in with a full box of fish.
By days end the guys caught 34 stripers to 43lbs another at 41 and a bunch in the high 30s. Kept a limit and released the rest!
Needed a afternoon like this after a couple of tough ones!!!
