Warinanco Park Pond 6-13-11
« on: June 13, 2011, 09:54:03 PM »
Started fishing around 7:30 and caught the usual small bullheads that I usually catch when I'm down there. Inbetween bites I walked the shoreline and found 4 different schools of thousands of baby bullheads. Looks like someone had a good spawning season. Then around 8:15 or so I hooked into a big fish. I had it within 2 feet of the bank, I saw its head, it was a nice catfish. Then it suddenly turns its head, dives, and spits the hook. Big fish are hard to come by in there. It's usually just the 5-6 inchers so I was pretty mad I lost it. Then about 10 or 15 minutes later I hookup with a big fish again, this time I pull it in. It was a beautiful 16" bullhead. After a couple pictures I released it. I think this might of been the same fish I lost 10 minutes earlier. Stayed around for another 20 minutes and packed it in just before it got dark.

Fishing, with me, has always been an excuse to drink in the daytime.
