Had Carl F and crew aboard for a day of what the ocean offers
Bait was scare local and jig fish are tough to count on so we headed off to the bottom grounds to try n put some meat in the box.
Started of with a slow pick of seabass on most spots... lots of runts with an occasional nice keeper. Had to do alot of bouncing around.
Move to a wreck a little deeper and when we stopped everyone doubled over. Got a good blast of cod.. even a couple double. Most were short but we caught around 35 cod with 11 being keepers. Good action and some nice eats for the guys!! Tried some wrecks in the same depth after but they didn't have the cod on them.
Came back inshore and picked at a few more seabass and added some ling tothe box.
Heard the bassin was slow esp without livies so we stick it out with bottomfishing.
Seen bird play and got excited but it was just blues... jigged a couple and headed for home.
Slow fishing but the cod was a nice bonus!
The guys made the most of a tough bite. By days end the guys boxed up 32 seabass, 11 cod, 15 ling and a few cocktail blues.
