6/18 bucktailing fluke
« on: June 18, 2011, 05:22:23 PM »
This was going to be a serious bucktailing fluke day. left6 the marina at 6 am and headed for the reef and shrewsbery rocks. there was no drift so I resorted to my very lite ugly stick with a penn 430 reel. I was able to cast out and retrive along the bottom to cover some ground. I ended up with 1 keeper and 15 ? shorts, but a 40 inch striper was also landed after a long fight with this lite outfit. I also hooked up later and lost the fish after about 15 min. fluke failure, but the day was great.

Way to make the most of tough conditions (no drift).  Bet that big striper was fun on the light rod! t^
