Fishguts 6/22 Barnegat Bay trip(poor fishing)
« on: June 22, 2011, 04:56:58 PM »
Today I ran a short bay trip with client and now good friend Curtis. We headed out around 7 and planned to be back by noon. Lets just say the bite was a bit picky.......NOT.....it sucked. What made it worse was that the conditions were pretty good. I hit many prime spots and even a few that I know wont hold good numbers this time of year. Finished up with 7 short mercy fish. I was lucky it was just a friendly trip and not a charter or we would steamed the 20 miles north to the Manasquan river about mid trip. Also I have not seen a bluefish inside in over 5 days. Good news is they have to get hungry sometime.

I agree bite has been slow!! I can't remember when it picked up last year. The water doesn't want to clear up.
