Lines off @6. Cooch brought monster killies, and some not so monsterous. We moved out to the Reach before anyone got there, and picked a few shorts.
Looking for some weight, so we packed up, steamed by CaptBob while he wasn't looking, and rounded the Hook. Drifted the honeyhole for more shorts, I switched to a tasty 6oz Mai Tai, bounced the false hook for a keeper, moved out to the SHC edges.
Cooch had the garbagefish trifecta in hand early, but could not hit the skate for the superfecta. He was putting on a show with short after short when he picks up another "this is a good fish." Not really, but hit like a door ram, good enough for the box.
Overcast lifted, the USS Kearsarge steamed out of Earle and right past us (very cool), hit a few more shorts. I got into something big but it turned out to be a 4' doggie that thrashed us. That's it, time for some nice Italian sammiches a la Cooch ("it's avocado-nature's butter") and headed back to Wagner's around noon.
Final tally 34 fluke, 32 of which were 17"-18", 2 keeps (finally) both 18.5". Fresh bluefish strips outproduced all, but the squid/killie combo was working too, as well as the MaiTai tipped with anything. Nice Morning, thanks Chris!
