Yea that would help.

Conventional. Impulsive purchase on my part.
No ratings on the rod.
But I think the Calcutta 400B would be a good match for this Fish Poison Rod.

I just put a Shimano Curado 300EJ on my poison rod. It is one fantastic set up. Was tossing spros and dragging bait with it for two days in a row.

It is a low profile casting reel. Perfect fit on the rod and easy to hold onto all day long.

I had the Shimano Calcutta 400 on the rod to begin with and am extremely happy with this replacement. The price is about the same for either the calcutta or the curado. t^

The Curado 300 is a great reel!  I like it better than my Calcuttas.  I use mine for just about everything - plugging, bucktailing, jigging, livelining, etc.  t^

Paul I but a "TICA CAIMAN LE STRIPER" on my custom rod guess I'm going on my 3rd season with it. The reel has been flawless. Think I've battled everything on the inshore fishing grounds with it. It's my first conventional reel thats not a Penn and I would buy another in a NY Minute. Just My 2 cents  t^
