A nice day with a nice box of fish to show for it. Today I had boat regulars Lou and Wilson step up for a last minute cancellation(thanks guys) on an all day wreck trip. Plan was to change it up a little today and check out some new areas that we have not been fishing for a few weeks. You know the old saying never leave fish to find fish well...... ahhh who cares cause the guys limited out on quality seabass anyway. Checked a nice spread of bottom with life on most of it. The trick was to find the cream and leave the weenies. The guys did a nice job boxing fish and had their limits with a few hours left in the trip. With blackfish season closed until Sat the 16th we set up for a few fluke drifts in the ocean. I just grabbed a few random spots of ocean and the anglers had a fair pick of shorts and keepers to 20". Final totals for the fillet table today for 2 anglers was 50 keeper seabass to 2.5 lbs(plus more than a few for myself
) 7 mixed size ling and 3 fluke of 19" 20" 20". The guys also released a few keeper size blackfish in addition to short seabass and fluke. Another great day with some wonderful people.
