Back on the water Helping MR Charters for another shot at Bluefin Charters.. Capt. Rich had Art's Charter onboard today for a run at the bluefin. So we broke the inlet around 3:45 with some friends following us out to the grounds. We hit the grounds alittle at 5am and we were greeted with a ton of sea life..
First two hours we all jigged with a few deep bait rods out. Finally, Tom hooked up on a jig and the game began.. After a intial run the tuna came to the boat quickly, but had second thoughts about the boat and Tom was back on the tug a war game.. Once he got the tuna boat side we sank some steel . Tom had a nice 50lb 45" B;uefin and his tuna cherry popped..
After taking some photos, we reset the drift again everyone jigged hard but not takers.. We decide to make a troll to another area to cover ground.. Nothing on the troll. So we went back to jigging on a new location and Bamm!!! Another Tuna on the jig.. This fish was a screamer on the reel.. After a few minutes we boated another 45" bluefin which got release.. So we popped two cherries today and did damn good considering what we heard on the radio..
Always good to get a few tuna tight!! even better to see the smiles on the charters faces..
enjoy Capt Joe
