Ok I don't think I phrased this correctly. Folks down this way are saying when they switch to mono they did better catching fluke. Can anyone think of a reason why? Sorry for the confusion.

Can anyone think of a reason why? Sorry for the confusion. My guess is the stretch and the lack of sensitivity offered by the mono gave the fluke that extra time to eat the whole bait before the angler could react. Since you feel everything with the braid, it can cause you to strike back too soon when you get a bite.Learning to fish braid after using mono for many years takes most folks a little time to adjust to.
