The last 2 days have seen some great action on keeper seabass. I changed it up and looked in another area I have not fished in for about 6 weeks and it is truly loaded. It is not holding the awesome quality we had last week but the shear numbers of hunger fish make it hard to pass up. There is just enough 2 to 3 lb fish to keep all anglers looking for a big knuckle head while still keeping 12.5" to 14" fish piling up in the cooler. On 8/11 it was Chris and his 2 buddies out for their 2nd ocean fishing trip ever. The trip started in slop conditions with lots of tide and north wind. The anglers did well and as the conditions improved the bite blew wide open. The guys enjoyed a real nice keeper ratio and had fish up to 2.7lbs with most around 13.5". It was an easy limit and headed in at 12:30. trip total for 3 anglers was 75 seabass limit and 3 ling. Today it was my good friend Alex(MVP) and his 3 nephews looking to get in on the fast seabass action. Even though I am licenced to carry 6 passangers and my vessel and can comfortably fish more the 3 anglers I normally limit my trips to only 3 anglers. I feel I can not offer the customer service with more anglers. Today we made the exemption. The deal was if I limited the 4 anglers out on seabass I did not have to clean the fish
. Well I did not have to brake the fillet knife out today. The 4 anglers finished with a real nice catch of 100 keepers seabass to 3lbs,6 ling, 6 blues and a keeper codfish. The anglers had great action all day long and caught fish on both bait and jigs. some real good fishing and real good days with nice people.
