With the up and down tuna fishing decided to fish inshore the past three days and use some of my vacation days.
Wednesday I fished for cod with my father, nephew Eddie and his friend Brian. Somewhat rough seas with the W wind against a S to SE swell. Got right on the wreck on the 1st drop and sat perfect. Boated 10 cod to 12 lbs with a few throwbacks...only fished for 3 hours and came in. My father caught the 12 lber.
On Thursday tried for cod again with my friend Anthony and his two sons Steven and Andrew. The NW wind, outgoing tide and the full moon was just a tad too much. Solid 4' seas on anchor was not fun and only boated 2 cod. Decided to head inshore and fluke fish. Did well...40 fluke with 16 keepers to 23". All on bait. This was a 12 hour marathon day 6 am to 6 pm!
Friday fluke fished with my g/f Liz and boated 6 keepers to 21 1/2" (caught by Liz!) with a few throwbacks. Only fished for about 4 hours.
Great weather and good eats!
