Fluking
« on: August 14, 2011, 04:22:10 PM »
Last three weeks I have been out to the same area past the end of a channel. Have done well with about 9 keepers the first 2 trips up to 4-5lbs. All rigs were bucktais with gulp belly strips in white and top hook on a drooper 14 inches up was a 6inch gulp grub. All colors worked. Strip baits also worked good on the buck tail. This past Friday was my latest trip and we had 8 keepers with the last 2 being a 5lber and then a 7 lber. The 5 was on fluke ribbon and white buchtail. The big one bite the 6 inch grub in chartruess up on the drooper. But they were also in shallower water down near the rocks. And they were both dead sticked while I was netting other fish. We had tons of seabass all day also. They also seemed to like the 6 inch grub. I had 2 dbl headers also ,1 with a 19" and 21" fluke. The other was a sea bass and a ling. They unhooked the fluke dbl hdr before I could get my cam.
