CBBT Pier 8/17
« on: August 22, 2011, 06:22:10 PM »
We took a little vacation to Williamsburg last week.  On the way down we planned a stop at the CBBT for lunch and fishing.
The pier facilities have been recently renovated and are much nicer than previously.
We had a nice lunch at the restaurant on the pier.  Then headed out to fish for a couple hours.  Very nice place to fish.  I'm sure it can get crowded, but it wasn't too bad on our visit.
We didn't have too much luck.  Few nibbles and a dropped a couple small blues on the way up.  But in the short time we were there we saw blues, fluke, croakers, etc caught by others.
If you're making a trip over the bridge, pack a rod and give it a try.   t^

We make that trip yearly and this year wew did hell on the croakers, plus there were some big drum around the rocks but that day they were just not biting.  If anyone does go down it is worth the time to give it a try.  Like Chris said bring your rods as they have a small bait shop hidden in a back room so just ask at any register and they will get just about anything you want.

If you do go the turn off to the pier is just after the second tunnel going south.  As you exit the tunnel be ready to make the fast right hand turn.  If you are going too fast you will miss it.

Happy Catching
