Hi gang,

Headed out to the fishing beach at Sandy Hook at the crack of dawn, and by noon got myself three flukes: (2) 15" and (1) one inch short of supper. :'(

Gorgeous day, and the first of what I hope to be more catches from the surf!

Now just keep at it and take notice of the conditions and mimic them when you go out again.  It does not work all the time but in our sport history does repeat itself.   clp

there's a spot at the Hook tip where it drops off from the beach right to 60'. It's a bit of a hike, and if the piping plovers are nesting it's fenced off, but def. some keepers there....

I was at the fishing beach, using standard fluke rig on a 9' spinning rod and live killies :)

In other news, went to Casino Pier Seaside Heights on Tuesday, and brought home a cooler full of snapper blues. Froze the shorter ones for future bait, and cooked up a few bigger ones for supper. Feisty little fish! Used 7' spinning rod with standard striper rig and squid, mackerel and mullet all working.
