 I have a couple that I use when I loose power. 400 watt and a 800 watt. Hook them up to your car battery. Just have to run the car once in awhile to recharge battery.

Same here.  I will use this to recharge my lanterns when they run out plus small lighting in the house.

 Not many know what they are. Last outage ran extension cord in the house and put some of those low watt bulbs in. I think they are 13 watt. Neighbors couldn't figure out why I had lights. I can run my sump pump on the 800 watt one and a 12 cubic ft refrigator. Have to run the car more often though.

I can run low wattage lamps as well.  Its funny I had a 3200 watt unit in my hands last week but did not buy it.  That one would have to be clipped to the battery direct.
