Common Sense Questions about LBI
« on: August 01, 2007, 07:08:05 PM »
Hey guys,
I fished LBI/Barnegat Inlet, etc. last week. Fishing wasnt good for fluke, or stripers at all. I caught tons of snappers at the inlet, that was it. Now if I wanted, are there any Marinas, where they have half day fluke or anything like that in the Long Beach Island area. I am looking to go for some nice fluke, as they are my favorite fish to catch. Any information about the LBI area, where the hotspots are now, where I can rent a boat (besides causeway boat rentals -- no fluke in the area there right now) please let me know. You can PM me, call me 973 703 1155, or just reply here. Thanks much.  t^ t^

PS. I'm Staying in Surf City.

Hi Fishon42,

When you were at the Barnegat Inlet, you were within walking distance of a fleet of boats.

There is the Miss Barnegat Light (I think they are fishing for blues); the Doris Mae (Fluke day and blues night; and the Searcher, and Carolyn Ann to name a few.

In Beach Haven, there is a Sponsor boat, the Miss Beach Haven (Sea Bass and Fluke I believe).

Fishing that inlet is hard as there is constant dredging; boat traffic; and ripping tides.

If you can get on a small boat, you can get to the sod banks; Meyer's Hole; area around clam island; BB and BI buoy; and etc. for anything from Fluke and Blues in the day to weakies and stripers at night.

Good luck,

Capt. Ed

PS - Did you get the hat I sent?

Alright, thanks alot guys. I will definitly try and hop on a boat. Better off being out on the water for fluke there anyway, I think.

Thanks
