To all Capt'ns ? on Sea Service Time on Re-newal
« on: July 26, 2011, 08:13:23 PM »
As I write, I am doing my Sea Service Time on my oupv re-newal. For info, my license expired last Sept.20th. I am on my 1yr grace period to renew.

Questions: You need 360 days in the last 5yrs. Can I use time from this year back 5yrs or does it have to be 5yrs back from when my license expired?

Also do you have to list the number of days Shoreward and Seaward or does it not matter now that you already have your class of oupv?
This is the last thing to do and want to get'er done.
Thanks
Matt

I would try their website.  http://www.uscg.mil/nmc/

I would want the right answer before I sent in the forms since you are close to the end of the grace period.  I do know if you get your packet in before the end of the grace period it stops the clock.

Thanks sealife. I searched around and there was no definitive answer. Seemed pretty straight forward. I send my paperwork to Mark Grosetti for review and if all is well he hand delivers it to the CG in Boston. Mailed it out today.

Well, it was all good news as I expected. All the e-mails from the CG as they were reviewing each section of your re-newal were positive. My New re-newal is now in my hands. I think storm damage tours might be in order for the week. TT^ TT^

Congrats on your renewal. The new format of the license is a blessing. Much easier to carry when needed.  t^
