Pilot - High hopes fishing 9/3
« on: September 04, 2011, 08:24:39 AM »
Been anxious as everyone else to see what we could find after a long week.  Headed out with Brother Jay and T-Bone looking to find a patch or two.  Tough time getting bait at the dock but managed about a dozen and half, with plenty of squid and killies to supplement.  Good ground swells past the rips made for a slow go.  Confused sea. First drop with difficulty holding on 8OZ spros.  10 Oz flats were skipping.  Crazy debris field on SH Reef that gaurantees a trip to the repair shop!! Slow going is a must or stay clear all together.   Monmouth beach, Sea Bright stench of raw sewerage and foul water.  The three mile line held cleaner water but winds were cranking and sea tossing.  Headed back early  today with 1 Keeper fluke care of Jay, 1 2lb bluefish (never thought I'd be praising the day I caught bluefish!), a couple of throwback CB's.   Decided to cancel Sunday's trip thinking it would be another boat ride.

Will give it a try next weekend if conditions warrant. Good luck out there t^

Seems those conditions are still around the hook area.Ever Enoughs last 2 trips were pretty much a bust also with one keeper fluke......

We are hoping the area settles down soon so we all can get back to the outstanding flukin that was here b4 that storm came through.
Why does it Matter to you? cause I could careless.........
